ALCOHOL INK

MORNING BLOOM

Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23

THE FARM

"Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the seed-bearing plant, and the fruit tree that bears fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth.” And it was so. The earth brought forth grass, the plant bearing seed according to its kind, and the tree bearing fruit, whose seed is in itself, according to its kind. And God saw that it was good."
Genesis 1:11 -12

STILL LIFE PEAR

The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23

Forest Stream

O nations of the world, recognize the Lord;   Recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong.Give to the Lord the glory he deserves!   Bring your offering and come into his courts.Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor.   Let all the earth tremble before him.Tell all the nations, “The Lord reigns!”   The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.   He will judge all peoples fairly.Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice!   Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!   Let the trees of the forest sing for joy.
Psalm 96:1-12

Solitude

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed”.     Mark 1:35

[un]Seen

Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Luke 15:4-7

The Parable of the Lost Sheep is a beautiful illustration of God's love for us.  In this story, Jesus is telling the religious leaders and His followers that although we are all sinners, not only does God see us and love us…He pursues us.  He will never give up on us.  And when we accept his love, He rejoices over us and brings us into community with others that rejoice over us as well.  I created this piece with layers and depth to represent the lengths God will go to capture your heart.  In the foreground are two abstract people representing the shepherd/Jesus and the lost sheep/you, the viewer.  The background characters represent the 99 in the story, but also the importance of being in a community of people that see you, know you and rejoice over you.  The final layer of this piece is a mirror to remind you that you are seen as well as to encourage you to reflect on how God pursues you.
